Since 1993, AMCP Foundation has offered a variety of unique Managed Care internships. Student pharmacists gain knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, health plans, pharmacy benefit management companies, and employer sites. Applications are open! Apply by January 9, 2026.

AMCP Foundation’s HBCU Travel Awards and Cathy A. Carroll Scholarship support future pharmacy leaders, providing access to education and resources in managed care.

Cathy A. Carroll Scholarship

The Carroll Scholarships are funded by the Cathy A. Carroll Memorial Fund and awarded to two student pharmacists towards their education in HEOR and industry.

Managed Care PGY-1 Premera Residency

The AMCP Foundation Premera Residency offers a longitudinal rotation for student pharmacists to explore careers in association management, attend AMCP Meetings, and AMCP Lobby Days on Capitol Hill.

Best Poster Competition

AMCP Foundation Best Poster Competition highlights outstanding research by student pharmacists, residents, fellows, and graduate students during AMCP meetings. AMCP 2026 submissions open August 18 and close November 10, 2025.

Steven G. Avey Award

AMCP Foundation’s Steven G. Avey Award is the highest honor in managed care pharmacy, recognizing visionary leaders for distinguished service and lasting contributions to the field. Nominate a colleague, peer, or mentor.

National P&T Competition

AMCP Foundation’s annual Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Competition gives student pharmacists hands-on experience in formulary review and evidence-based decision-making by simulating a real P&T Committee. Finalists will be announced in March 2026, with top teams competing at AMCP 2026.

AMCP Foundation Symposium

The AMCP Foundation Symposium brings together thought leaders to explore timely and forward-looking issues in managed care pharmacy. The event features expert discussions, emerging research, and interactive dialogue that inform and inspire innovation in patient care and pharmacy benefit design.
