AMCP Foundation Best Poster Judges & Poster Mentors
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation invites you to volunteer for our Best Poster Competition held at the AMCP Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Meeting 2020, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX.
We are seeking volunteers for poster judges and poster mentors. Your assistance in providing a rewarding experience for our poster presenter’s, and your commitment to research in managed care pharmacy, is invaluable.
The competition is designed for student pharmacists and residents/fellows. Judging and mentoring will not be open to posters in other disciplines. These student and resident/fellow non-reviewed abstracts are usually projects where data is not available at time of submission, but may be available at the time of the meeting.
The Best Poster Award is given to one student pharmacist and one resident or fellow with the most outstanding poster, as evaluated by our volunteer judges. The recipients from each category of the Best Poster Competition will be announced and presented with CVS Health at the AMCP Foundation Reception on Thursday, during AMCP Annual 2020. The recipients will also receive a cash award of $500, an engraved plaque, a complimentary AMCP membership for one year, recognition in AMCP News & Views, and complimentary registration to AMCP Nexus 2020 in Las Vegas, NV.
What is expected of a Poster Judge? A poster judge reviews and scores a set of poster abstracts assigned to them prior to the competition. Onsite, the poster judges evaluate a subset of in-person poster presentations, interacting with authors. Based on final scores, the Best Student, Best Resident/Fellow, and Best Graduate Student poster recipients are selected. The AMCP Foundation Best Poster Competition is held on Wednesday, April 22 during the Opening Night Reception.
What is expected of a Poster Mentor? A poster mentor prepares the poster presenter to speak about their research by visiting assigned posters, asking questions of the presenters and providing feedback. Onsite, the poster mentors are expected to spend 5 - 15 minutes with a selection of poster presenters on Thursday, April 23. Mentors will only be assigned to poster presentations in the student, resident/fellow, and graduate student non-reviewed categories.
All judges and mentors will receive a ribbon at registration.
