The following resources are provided to help applicants with their synthesis essay portion of the AMCP Foundation/Pfizer, Inc. Oncology Summer Internship application:
There has been a lot of recent interest in the use of cannabinoids by patients with cancer. Your preceptor would like a 15 minute overview presentation on potential interactions between cannabinoids and three oncology treatment mechanisms of action.
Create an outline of what you would present with references included in the outline. They would like at least two primary literature sources for interactions for each mechanism of oncology treatment.
Create a report describing the process of real-time prescription benefit checks that addresses the following:
1. Describe the how cannabinoids are being used by patients.
2. Describe at least one study that supports the use of cannabinoids by patients with cancer.
3. Explain what potential side effects a patient may experience with concurrent use of cannabinoids and three oncology medications (each medication chosen must have a different mechanism of action).

Your report must have an executive summary of no more than 250 words, followed by the OUTLINE of your presentation. This outline should be structured in 7 to 10 bullets with no more than 5 sub-bullets for each. (**Please no doctoral dissertations – the judges will not read it. Be brief and to the point.)
