Help AMCP Foundation and Volunteer Alexandria serve the needs of the greater Washington, DC community -- where AMCP & the Foundation are headquartered. We invite all AMCP members and Nexus attendees to join us in a giving tradition that serves a greater good.
Where? At AMCP Nexus 2019 in National Harbor, MD, or online!
How? At Nexus, stop by the AMCP Foundation sock bin (near registration) and donate a pair of new socks. All attendees that participate will receive an "I Knocked My Socks Off" ribbon as a taken of appreciation for the donation. Online, donate socks through our Amazon Wish List. Simply add socks to your Amazon cart and choose Volunteer Alexandria at checkout. Shop to give! Select the AMCP Foundation at smile.amazon.com, and Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price.
When? At Nexus, Wednesday-Thursday, October 30-31 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Friday, November 1 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. Online, through Friday, November 8.
What types of socks are needed? All socks are welcome in adult and youth sizes. All socks must be brand-new.
Recipients? AMCP Foundation's community partner, VolunteerAlexandria, will provide socks to Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS). Northern Virginia Family Service's breadth, depth and scope of services offer the resources and support to ensure that everyone in need, at every stage of life, maximizes their potential and fully contributes to a thriving community. They provide essential building blocks for financial, emotional and physical well-being, serving as leaders and innovators for the Northern Virginia community. Every year, NVFS empowers 35,000 individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. With these essential resources, the community is better equipped for future success and engagement.
