Dr. Kahlon holds a multifaceted role at Steward Health Care. He is Chief Information Officer; Region VP, Florida; and Chief Medical Information Officer. He manage the Information Services team to support health plan and ACO functions, and collaborates with Network Data & Analytics to guide and fulfill data needs for value-based care initiatives. Additionally, he has developed and currently manages a clinically integrated network comprising several hundred physicians in new Steward Health Care market including Brevard and Indian River Counties.
Previously, Dr. Kahlon serves as Director, Care Innovation, Oracle Health Sciences, with a focus on delivering technological infrastructure to support individualized care at the intersection of population health and precision medicine. His primary career interest is in applying modern information and communication technologies to transform the delivery of healthcare.
Dr. Kahlon has a background in health information systems, electronic health records (EHR), health data exchange, mHealth and telemedicine.
In addition, Dr. Kahlon has spent time in community practice as an adult infectious diseases specialist in Florida. Dr. Kahlon is currently on staff at the Orlando VA Medical Center and is affiliated with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine, an appointment he has held since 2010.
His MD is from the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB) and he also received a MS in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Central Florida.
Among other professional affiliations, Dr. Kahlon presently serves on the Board of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Central & North Florida Chapter.
